Who is responsible

Jean Gauthier, Gerechtigkeitsgasse 80, 3011 Bern, Switzerland, is responsible for the personal data collected through this website. Write to info@jeangauthiers.com with any question about it.

What we collect

Inquiries. When you send an inquiry, we receive your name, your email address and your message. They are stored in a Google Firestore database in Zurich, Switzerland, and a copy is emailed to the gallery so that we can answer you. You also receive an automatic acknowledgement. We keep inquiries for as long as we have a reason to, and delete them on request.

Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address. Nothing is sent to you until you confirm the address by following a link in a confirmation email, and every newsletter carries an unsubscribe link. The list is held by Brevo, whose servers are in France.

Spam protection. Both forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a submission comes from a person rather than a script. Cloudflare receives your IP address for that check.

Statistics. We use PostHog, on European servers, to count page views and see which pages are read. It runs without cookies and stores nothing on your device, which is why this site has no cookie banner. We do not sell this data, share it for advertising, or use it to identify you.

Server logs. The site is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting, which logs requests, including IP addresses, to operate and secure the service.

Cookies

Visiting this site sets no cookies. Gallery staff who sign in to edit the site have a session cookie; that is the only one.

Your rights

You may ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, or request a copy in a portable form. Write to info@jeangauthiers.com. If you think we handle your data unlawfully, you can complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner in Bern, or, if you live in the European Union, to the supervisory authority where you live.

We revise this page when the site changes. This version dates from 29 July 2026.
